Students produce the equation of a line from whatever they are handed: two points, a table of values, a graph, or a sentence describing a constant rate. Slope-intercept, point-slope, and standard form are all fair game.

How the Algebra 1 EOC tests this benchmark

The item specifications deliberately make this harder than the 8th grade version. Written descriptions and tables leave the y-intercept out, so it has to be derived. Given graphs carry no marked or labeled points and the line does not cross the y-axis at an integer, which rules out reading the answer off the picture. Equation editor items accept any equivalent equation.
