Plotting Points and Reflections on the Coordinate Plane: Sample FAST Questions

Students extend their understanding of the coordinate plane to plot ordered pairs with rational number coordinates in all four quadrants and on both axes. They also identify the x- or y-axis as the line of reflection when two ordered pairs have opposite x- or y-coordinates, such as (3, 2) and (3, −2).

How the FAST tests this benchmark

FAST items include graphic response questions where students plot a point on a coordinate grid and multiple choice items identifying coordinates, quadrants, or the axis of reflection between two points.

Skills students need

  • Plot ordered pairs in all four quadrants
