MA.7.GR.1.3 · Geometric Reasoning
Students explore the proportional relationship between the circumference and the diameter of a circle, which is exactly what π measures, and then apply the circumference formula. They work in both directions: finding the circumference from a radius or diameter, and finding the radius or diameter from a given circumference.
The FAST asks for circumference through the equation editor, sometimes exactly in terms of π and sometimes rounded, and the item states which. The most common error is using the radius where the formula calls for the diameter, which halves the answer.
